How to Prepare for Your First Facial

Facials are fairly low-prep compared to other treatments, but a little planning helps your skin — and your therapist — get the most out of the session.

Skip strong actives beforehand. Avoid retinoids, acid exfoliants or fresh waxing for 48 hours prior — skin needs to not be freshly irritated going in.

Come makeup-light if you can. It saves time on double-cleansing and means your therapist can read your skin more accurately from the start.

Mention everything. Allergies, breakouts, recent treatments, medications like retinoids or accutane — all of it changes what's safe to do that day.

Plan your day around it. Skin can look slightly flushed for an hour or two afterward — not ideal timing right before photos or a big meeting.

First-timers usually start with our Deep Cleanse Facial or Radiance Cacao Facial — both are gentle enough to be a great introduction.
